Adult Day Program Personal Support Worker

Adult Day Services

Part Time

Flexible work hours may include some evenings and weekends

 

North York Seniors Centre provides programs and services to promote the physical, emotional and social well being of adults 55+ living in our diverse community.

 

This position reports to the A Day Away Supervisor.

 

Responsibilities:

·      Assist with toileting and ADLs for A Day Away program clients

·      Assist and/or facilitate therapeutic programs in A Day Away Club

·      Set up and clean-up of program areas and lunch room and assist with meal service

·      Complete shopping

·      Participate in continuous quality improvement processes and assist ADS Team with research and development of best practices

·      Promote and maintain a high standard of customer service that is client focused

 

Qualifications/ Skills:

 

     Education:           A graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker program with a school registered with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities

     Experience:          One year of experience in a community setting

      Other:                   Current Vulnerable Sector Screening Check

                                    Strong communication and written skills

                                    Ability to speak English well; ability to speak a second language an asset

                                    Physically able to support clients during transfers

Physically able to assist with set up of program areas including moving furniture and supplies

Certified in First Aid and CPR

Valid driver license and car available; an asset
